Position:   GIS Application Developer & Trainer

Office Location: Fairfax, Virginia

Description:    The responsibilities of the position requires the design, development and enhancement of GIS transportation and demographic data tracking applications in ArcView (extensive use of Avenue), ArcView Internet Mapserver applications,  and/or Arc/Info.   These GIS applications integrate with student information systems and legislative systems software applications.   The candidate selected for this position will have the opportunity to apply their creativity, experience and communications skills in developing ArcView and ArcView Internet Mapserver applications.  System maintenance and problem determination will also be the responsibility of this position with unit test and system test during systems integration.

Desired Skills:    Oracle DBA experience.

Education Required:    Bachelor's degree in physical science,  engineering, geography, computer science or mathematics/statistics.

Experience Required:     5+ years general computer experience with 5 years extensive transportation Geoprocessing experience.  2+ years application design experience with ARC/INFO, ArcView utilizing Avenue.  Experience in a Windows NT environment mandatory.  Candidate should have experience defining requirements and evaluating, installing, customizing and maintaining GIS systems.
